Did you know....

.... AgriNews has a blog?

Well, it isn't a blog-blog per say, (not like this high-quality web site you have in front of you! ha ha ha!) but it's a spot in these here Internets where we reporters field editors can post a little bit about our opinions and views and fun stories about what we've been up to.  And, as reporters, we don't often get the chance to tell anyone what we really think about them their presentation/farms/philosophical approach to life.

There's a new one every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and it is written by someone different each time.

Once every couple a'weeks I turn in my own opinion column and it magically shows up on the web page.

So if you can't get enough of me -- thanks, I know you love me -- you can find more of my ramblings and the other AgriNews reporters' field editors' rants and raves through the AgriNews homepage - just look for the "Opinions" tab (because trust me - I have opinions!)

Check us out.... we're pretty awesome... you're going to love us!

Until the next adventure...

Who knew.....

... four little letters could throw my life into such a whirlwind?!

But, after 14 months on the market, our house has sold and we're closing on Friday!  Until then, pray for us that nothing falls through and that I don't cut myself on the packing tape gun!

Until the next adventure...

Today is the big day -- I selected the winner of the 4 pack of Indiana State Fair tickets!

And the winner is..... (drumroll please!)

.... commenter #8 -- Stay-at-Home Mom, Jill!

Now - back to me....

I had a grreat day a the Indiana State Fair myself yesterday.  There'll be more on that later (my hips are still sore from walking so much!) but it was a great day, thanks to the soybean alliance for providing the tickets and grub for me to enjoy the fair with one of my nephews and my mom.

I can't wait to show you all the photos! Despite the heat, we all had a great time.

Next time I go to the fair though, I want to have someone to pull ME around in a wagon all day, think its cute when I get chocolate all over my face from my milkshake and no one question me when I want to take another lap on the pedal tractors!  ;)

(and yes, he hearts beef!)

Until next time...

Indiana State Fair -- Deep Fried Everything

The Indiana State Fair is open!

I was there this morning (earlier than I would like to admit -- like at an hour when I thought only Jesus and dairy farmers were awake) and I had a strawberry milkshake for a mid-morning snack.  (best value on the grounds, I believe)

And my view from the bench where I enjoyed said shake included watching people as they decide between some of these fried delicacies:

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Burger

Deep fried Pepsi, cookie dough, Oreos, peanut butter cups, Snickers, Milkways,

Deep fried butter (yeah, butter!), brownies,

And if you're watching your weight and don't want to eat something fried, there's the Pigs in the Mud (chocolate covered bacon!)

Need to try some of these delicacies, go here and register to win 4 free tickets!

Yum, yum!!

Going Goth at the Indiana State Fair!

Oh my GOODeness!

You know that painting "American Gothic" with the farmer and his wife and know.... that one that gets replicated all the time with them holding different thing besides the pitchfork....?  Anyone?  Anyone out there?

If you saw said painting, you'd know what I'm talking about.... it looks kinda like this?

Except... this version is 25 feet tall!  (and very cool I might add!)  And it's at the Indiana State Fair (among a TON of other cool things!)

You can nearly see right up their noses!  (yes, I'm a grown adult and yes, I still find that kind of humor funny)

Look at that... the statue is even painted to look like the painting... ummm... well,  you know what I mean.

Moral of the story blog is this -- it's cool and you should go see it!

(you can see more of the cool stuff happening at the Indiana State Fair here! It's the Year of Pigs!)

Oh, but how? where do I find the tickets? I can't afford to pay for 4 tickets for my family AND buy the kiddos all the cotton candy they can shove in their mouths! What is a person to do?!!!

Soooo glad you asked!
